Whether it is a specific injury needing attention, a deep tissue sports massage, headaches or just a chance to relax, soft tissue therapy is an essential tool to Rebalance, de-stress and unwind. Kiri is good at listening and discussing any concerns that you have and will adjust the treatment provided accordingly. Most recently I have been getting headaches so we have made this a key focus for the last couple of sessions and the results have been amazing.
Postural stress is the stress on our bodies as a result of inefficient posture, repetitive movements or prolonged time in the same positions; often as a result of work environments. It is difficult to maintain a perfect posture all of the time.
Yet the better our posture is, the less likely we are to develop aches and pains or more complex conditions in the future. If left unchecked poor posture can result in pain, muscle aches, tension, headaches, and can lead to long-term complications such as osteoarthritis. Of all the symptoms we experience headaches are the most common. I strongly recommend her and in fact have suggested to my orthopaedic surgeon that this therapeutic massage following surgery greatly assists recovery.
I have found this particularly helpful when I have been recovering from a couple of operations that temporarily limited my mobility. Lower back pain, leg, shoulder and upper arm pain in particular have plagued me but with massage these areas have been greatly improved.
After just a couple of sessions we were making progress on getting me moving again, through massage and stretching exercises, and I finally had relief from the constant pain I was in. Having always been fairly active I still try to keep up some form of regular exercise and am now a firm believer in massage to relieve tight muscles and help minimize the risk of further injury. A session with Kiri every three weeks means we address any aches and pains as they arise and maintain those known problem areas β for me this is predominately neck, lower back and legs.
